Side Dish

I know families who guard the mac and cheese recipe more zealously than the BBQ sauce recipe. That's some kind of serious.

  1. in Hawaii, we're not raised on mac & cheese unless you were originally from the mainland. My g/kids love mac and cheese because their daddy loves mac and cheese. I dislike it unless there are a lot of cubed ham pieces in it.

  2. I beg to differ with one aspect of the article; the "high and honored side dish" effect for Mac 'n' cheese is not limited by skin coloration.

I'm whiter than that rumored white whale, but my Mac 'n' Cheese 'n' Cheese 'n' Cheese comes from a long and storied tradition... and we also discuss who's going to bring it.

I believe it has more to do with generational socioeconomics than melanin.
