In The Can

In The Can
We're not sure why, but we decided to make jelly. Not just any jelly, mind you.
Dr. Pepper Jelly.
Yep. Said it. Did it. Plan on having a Dr. Pepper PB&J later today. Will report back.
Also, Cheerwine jelly, which I'm told is featured on the Wine List of a local college dining hall. Not sure if ironic, or not.
Hope you have wifi in the bathroom....
ReplyDeletePaul Scollon Our experiment isn't that aberrant. We have happily consumed Dr. Pepper jelly beans and Coca Cola gummies at this house, with no ill effects. It has been awhile since we put anything up, but water bath canning isn't too complicated.
ReplyDelete"Water bath canning isn't too complicated" except for the part where the faucet keeps digging into your back.
ReplyDeleteDrew McCarthy adding lemon juice helps the "setting" process I believe.
ReplyDeletePaul Scollon We tried that with the Dr. Pepper, and omitted it with the Cheerwine. Of the two, the Cheerwine set the best, and we weren't entirely happy with what the lemon did to the Dr. Pepper. So. No definitive solution, yet.
