Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them

This isn't just about Brexit.

I've dealt with this for years in matters of project management. Often, one is faced with exiting the train before the crash, or attempting mitigation and self protection while still on the train. There aren't any good choices, until the avoided truth becomes stark and apparent.

  1. History has moved a full circle. Time has brought UK to the point where the Indians were when it was time for them to stand up and decide that they wanted freedom. The transition is always stressful.

  2. I think the arguments for sovereignty and independence are less meaningful these days, and as usual, are more likely to be taken too seriously in the wrong way. We have always been interdependent, and always will be. The span of our interdependencies, and the extent of negative consequences, are far greater than ever. But pols, as ever, are reluctant to struggle with that fact usefully.
