One ridonkulously tall stick. I mentioned once again that aging, failing eyesight would not be able to see the Windex at such a height. Was told we shall have a functioning electronic simulacrum visible in the cockpit. Fancy.

    I like it - many more options available for drinking when the sun crosses the yardarm. Or do I mean spreader?

    My first job at age 11 was chrome polish monkey on an old guy’s Columbia 56. I loved going up the mast in the bosun’s chair because I knew no one would ever see how crappy I was at my job.

    We had one foulup in the halyard exit that was just accessible from the janky man lift in the yard. Affixing the Windex and VHF antenna will have to wait until we get it in the water.

    I'm hoping we won't have cause to go up the mast much, for a host of reasons. But hey, we've got three (count 'em! three!) speed winches now. They sound good in theory, but I'm always leery of fancy things malfunctioning in unexpected ways.
