I owned, rode (and even raced) one of these for a number of years, liked it quite a bit.

When I started out riding, the joys (and perils) of Drillium were the thing. Interesting to see folks hacksawing, molding, and laying up stuff.

IIRC, Trek was one of the few carbon composite manufacturers at that time with no rider weight limits, and extremely good warranty support.
