Temple Burn

Temple Burn

This is the night of the Temple Burn. The temple is a special place where people take keepsakes from loved ones that have died or they simply go write on the wood inside... they write things they would never say in the real world. The burning of it is somewhat of a symbol of letting that thing go. If you're an emotional, sensitive person, you really can't hang out in there too long. You might just look at 1/3000 scrawlings that says something like, "Nobody loves me." and then, another person, underneath, will write, "That's not true, I do." Stuff like that.. anyway, this year I'm taking a photo of my dad holding my son Ethan. I'll write something. I'm not sure what yet.

  2. There's always some conflict between the rarity of peak experiences and elitism, isn't there?
