Mastodon

Twitter has been shooting itself in the feet over and over again lately and a lot of people are walking away. I’m not quite to that point but I’m looking at where other people are going and one of them is Mastodon.

I signed up and did a quick search for some info on it and a mobile app recommendation. What I found was this article:

_*”What I wish I knew before joining Mastodon -
Where I attempt to explain Mastodon through Harry Potter gifs”*_

I made it about half way through and basically gave up.

The instances thing and this line : ”Since each user is tied to an instance, people can also steal your username and identity on another instance” threw me off.

How can you hope to build a large scale social network for millions of people with stuff like this?

Anyone tried Mastodon? Anyone understand it?

G+ allows multiple instances of the same name.
