Operator? Information, Please

Operator? Information, Please

We were talking about the prevalence of Trains showing up in Gospel and Blues songs... What's funny is that those songs will probably still make sense to future generations, because trains are still around, and likely to be so. This one will require some explanation...

I was listening to a version recorded by the Friendly Brothers, and got to wondering who wrote the song. The Friendly Brothers credited their own Bill Spivery, but I think it was probably Sister Wynona Carr, a talented young woman who didn't quite make it to the Big Time. As the man said, "you gotta have the looks and the talent; you gotta do all the right stuff - then you still have to get lucky."

  1. Operator? Information. Get me Jesus on the line.

Jesus answers, with a text... "I'm sorry. I don't use my phone for that."
