There's a reason why the old Irish laws deemed a bard making fun of a king a particularly felonious crime.

Even the best of politicians — not that it's nearly the case here — would have found matching wits with any reasonably experienced bard a challenging exercise. And what's being a king worth if not getting out of exercising?
