Everything's (Not) Fine
Assuming you are one of those people who have such things, you've probably got one of these. The recall goes back to 1973.
The pushbutton ones were always craptastic, but I've owned (and used) a bunch of the heavier plastic lever ones (upper left of the graphic) without issue.
Still, it's not something you want to fail when you need it, so I'll be visiting Kidde later today to see what remedy is offered.

They [say that they will] send you a replacement and further instructions on what to do with the existing unit.

ReplyDeleteAs long as the phrase "where the Sun don't shine" isn't part of the instructions, I'm good.
