Doing Hard Things

I have hard things to do today. And the day after, and the day after that, and on for quite awhile.

I have done hard things before. It doesn't seem to make it easier. More familiar, maybe. Still hurts.

This song has some sweet, hopeful things to say about that. But what it doesn't say? The part that you really can't say, about how hard things can be, but you have to keep going anyway?

That's the part that makes me cry, sometimes, when I hear this song.

And one other thing. A lot of hard things? You have to do them by yourself. Nobody can do them for you.

But having the support of others? That's a priceless gift. Takes away some of the misery, helps heal the wounds.

And for me? Biscuits. Biscuits help.

    Bruce Shark I'm lucky enough to have someone who already made me biscuits this morning. Biscuits with apple butter. It is good to be loved.
