Vaughn Bodé (22 July 1941 – 18 July 1975, USA) was an underground cartoonist and illustrator known for his character Cheech Wizard and his artwork depicting voluptuous women.
A contemporary of Ralph Bakshi, he has been credited as an influence on Bakshi’s animated films “Wizards” and “The Lord of the Rings”.
He has a huge following among graffiti artists, with his characters remaining a popular subject.
Bodé won the Best Fan Artist Hugo at the 1969 science fiction WorldCon. He won the Yellow Kid Award at Lucca in 1974. He was inducted into the Will Eisner Award Hall of Fame in 2006.
