ReplyDeleteNo fireplace is as efficient as a stove, ever. Our fireplace is a Rumford variant, not quite as tall, but nicely angled and sloped, always draws very well. Puts a lot of heat out. There are still some good masons around here that know the art of a fireplace.
ReplyDeleteFireplaces in the keeping room, bedroom, and parlor? I've worked on a few of those. Nice.
ReplyDeleteDon't do masonry, much. More a carpenter than anything else. But I've worked on a fair number of historic houses.
