Opposite Tack

Opposite Tack

The day started with subfreezing temperatures, fog, no wind, and my trimming partner hors de combat from the creeping crud.

The wind picked up, and we proceeded to race fast and break stuff, most notably another halyard, with a working spinnaker attached to it.

Enjoyment was heightened by the new warm front blowing in with erratic gusts that caused sudden changes in local vertical and boat heading. Everyone stayed connected to the boat, folks were only grazed by the boom tackle flying by, and bleeding was minor.

We took two seconds and a first, and were rewarded by homemade cookies and rum cake.

I expect to make Old Wookiee noises on arising tomorrow morning.
