Today is the 300th anniversary of the first lighthouse built in the U.S.A. -during colonial times - Boston Light. It is also the only lighthouse where the U.S. Coast Guard is required to have a light-keeper's presence on the property, although the light is automated. Several events are planned for the tercentenary in the area, including the dimming and relighting of the lamp at dusk.

How wonderful for her. As a kid I was always fascinated with the beautiful lighthouses I visited in Michigan. She doesn't look anything like Tom Bodett. :)
