Think On These Things
Think On These Things
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
Phillipians 4:8.

I spent the morning with 4th and 5th grade Girl Scouts, shooting pictures while they splashed in a stream, merrily and without rancor or aggression, joyfully learning about watersheds and how they work. A mostly good world, indeed.
ReplyDeleteI have just been watching the moon rise up across the way until it looked as though it was sitting on the roof of a house. It made me think of the first man on the moon and where I was when I saw that so many (47) (cough) years ago. Remember the good in the world, yes. :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a policeman, all I used to see and deal with were the dregs of the earth, and one horror after another. It gave me a warped view of the world. That was, until I was assigned to try to make Community Policing work. Then, I met ordinary folks that lived in the poor neighborhoods or in public housing. They never exposed themselves once they came home. They had the same values, hopes, and dreams I did. I just never came across them. It really changed my attitude towards the public!
