In July 24, 1966 L.A. Free Press writer Peter Bergman began broadcasting the ad lib underground radio show "Radio Free Oz" on public station KPFK. He was soon joined by broadcasters Phil Austin and David Ossman. By November the radio improv group would add writer/actor Philip Proctor, and as The Firesign Theatre, would sign a record deal the following year with Columbia. Regnad Kcin.
