If you can read this story and still be a supporter of the "War on Drugs" and Life Without Parole sentences for non-violent crimes...well, I challenge anyone to think about what they would do in his situation.
If your insurance suddenly stopped, and you needed over $150k for a critical bone marrow transplant for your kid, what would you do? To what extents would you risk your own life and freedom to ensure your child lived?
In a nation where we don't have universal medical care, parents are forced to make horrific decisions.
