    They missed the best reason of all. Because it was written as a Tex Avery cartoon and only for made live-action due to studio pressures to show the star's faces.

    Watch it as an Avery offering and it's brilliant in every way.

    It's definitely a screwball comedy that verges on parodying all screwball comedies, including itself.
    I enjoyed it immensely, once I figured out it was Bruce Willis's version of Atomic Shakespeare, writ large.
